A young adult romance that will steal your heart
Robin in the Hood Diane J Reed 9780984912933 Books
Robin is going to rob banks, and she might fall in love. She’s fallen out of favor at her rich school because Daddy’s fixed the books and can’t pay the bills. But now...From the first scene, told in a convincing first-person teen voice, to the last, Robin in the Hood is delightfully tongue in cheek, randomly crazy, and humorously odd. It tells of a teen coming of age, family trust lost long ago, the dawning of love, and the bombing of bad guys with trebuchets and jello pits. But there’s wisdom and mystery hidden under the crazy action, quick-fire dialog, and rapid romance. Creek, though mystically odd, repeatedly retreats to an appropriate distance. Robin, though over-the-top and wild, slowly learns there’s more to love and rejection than quick assumptions. Prayers, though no one is sure who they’re sent to, are answered. And a nicely modern Robin Hood theme slips pleasingly into the space around a hidden lake.
This isn’t the sanitized Robin Hood where rich people never get hurt. Nor is it the overly-socially-conscious sort that agonizes over other poeple’s pain. Rather it’s a quick sharp romp through modern fantasy, blending fairytale, romance, excitement and fun in well-measured portions—a fast, cool, highly recommended read.
Disclosure: I was given a free ecopy during the author’s blog tour. I’m just sorry it took me so long to get around to reading it.

Robin in the Hood Diane J Reed 9780984912933 Books Reviews
Robin in the Hood is a wonderful young adult romance with a touch of fairy tale magic about a formerly rich girl who's forced to grow up fast and take responsibility when her family falls apart. Without any source of income, and after discovering her father has become disabled, for the first time in her life Robin decides to take destiny into her own hands and do something about creating the better future that she desires. Yes, she takes a few wrong turns along the way (one of which includes robbing banks), but this is a novel that shows the consequences of the main character's actions, and I loved how much the reader gets to see Robin grow from her experiences and mistakes. Along with her new-found maturity, Robin also falls for a thief named Creek that she meets at her new home in the trailer park, only to learn that this veteran outlaw has a secret heart of gold and a lot to teach her to teach about truly caring for others (reminiscent of the lessons in the legend of Robin Hood). This is a novel that is filled with charming characters, terrific plot twists, and a love story to die for that will keep you up way past your bedtime to see what happens next.
Easy to read and fall in love with the characters from the first page to the last!
Robin goes to a rich and snobby private girls school. Her life gets turned upside down when her father's health and business goes down the tubes. She quickly learns that she has been living a life of lies and doesn't know the truth anymore. But she soon learns a lot at Turtle Shores Trailer Park. She finally has a family that she was missing and a totally hot boyfriend named Creek. Together they begin robbing banks to help their family survive,
You will not be disappointed in this modern day robing hood story!
Robin in the Hood

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Diane Reed is a new author for me. I am so glad to have found her. This may be the first of her works I have read but it will definitely not be the last.
The title of this novel is what drove my desire to read it. I always loved to read the adventures of the legendary Robin Hood. My curiosity went rampant. How close could a contemporary novel go.
This novel is full of suspense, adventure, love, mystery and fairy tale.
A fifteen year old society girl is dragged into a life so surreal to her own as to be almost infathomable. She is pulled from a life of wealth and protection into the world of poverty.
She has nothing but questions. Who is she really? Where did she come from, who are her real parents and does she have a family are all questioons with seemingly no answers.
From the moment of her father's abrupt illness and loss of all his lifes earnings into abject poverty she is on the run. She needs to kidnap her father from a hospital, steal a car and rob her first bank. She finds herself in a trashy trailer park that is reminicent of a gypsy camp. From then on, her life is one of an adventure novel.
While reading this story, you will find yourself wondering whether you are in the real world or that of a fairy tale or legend. Your mind will compare the characters to those you read about as a child. You may even ask yourself the question, was Robin Hood really and outlaw or a good guy. Is Robin really a felon or a good person. You will not want to put the story down but turn to the next page.
Will Robin find the answers to her questions. Will she find out what things are most valuable in life. Will she forgive her father and maybe find out who her mother really is. These are the things that will drive you to the next page.
This has lead me to wanting more and I will have to read the next two of this series "Stone of Thieves" and "Sherwoods End".
This is a must read for all adventure story lovers both young and old.
